The Institute in September 2021 boarded unserviceable items and placed tender notice inviting interested staff and general public for purchase. The exercise suffered some hiccup occasioned by the lingering nationwide industrial action by the Research Institutes in Nigeria that commenced in November, 2021. The tender was, however, opened on January 12, 2022 at the Lawrence Opeke Conference Hall of the Institute. The ED CRIN, Dr. Patrick Adebola, was on hand to declare the exercise opened. All that expressed interest in the purchase of the boarded items were on ground to witness the tender opening which was largely transparent. The items advertised for biding were cars, truck, bus, batteries, motorcycles, iron windows, air conditioners, tricycles and concrete roller scrap.
